LetterScript is priced by the transaction — one transaction, worked end to end. There's no subscription: your first transaction is free, and after that you buy transactions whenever you need them.
What a transaction includes
Opening a transaction uses one transaction, and deleting it later doesn't give that transaction back — the delete confirmation says so in as many words. Archive a file you might reopen instead. Inside a transaction you buy, everything is included — no per-page fees and no question meter:
- Document pages processed
- Smart answers from the transaction assistant
- Point-of-sale disclosures by property address
- Deadlines on your calendar, the per-transaction email inbox, and the disclosure audit log
- Up to 25 collaborators on the transaction — pricing is per transaction, never per seat, so inviting a co-agent, transaction coordinator, or escrow officer costs nothing extra. Collaborators share the documents, deadlines, disclosures, and assistant; the transaction's email inbox stays with the transaction owner
Your free first transaction includes a full transaction's worth of work — 200 document pages, 10 smart answers, and 10 sent emails, plus an included allowance of AI processing that covers reading a normal transaction's document set. Buying any transaction later unlocks that free transaction in full, too.
Scanned and photographed documents cost much more to read than digital ones, so a large set of scans can use up the free transaction's AI-processing allowance before it reaches 200 pages. When that happens LetterScript tells you so on the transaction and on the document — it never bills you for it, and nothing already read is lost. Buying a transaction raises that transaction's allowance and has the rest read.

Buy transactions any time from Settings → Purchase, from Settings → Billing & transactions → Buy transactions, or the Buy transactions button on the pricing page. They don't expire — buy a few and open transactions whenever you're ready, and every purchase emails you a Stripe receipt. If LetterScript were ever discontinued, or your account closed through no fault of your own, unused purchased transactions are refunded (see the Transaction Credits section of the Terms of Service). Where to see your balance
Your remaining transactions show on the transactions board — the N transactions left badge beside New transaction, and the badge is itself a link to your billing page — and under Settings → Billing & transactions. When you run out, creating a new transaction prompts you to buy more; existing transactions stay fully usable either way.
There are never surprise overage bills: if your free transaction reaches one of its included allowances — pages, smart answers, sent emails, or AI processing — work simply pauses until you buy a transaction. You'll see a banner naming which allowance it was, and the transaction itself explains anything left unfinished, so a paused transaction never just looks empty.
