LetterScript can push your deadlines into the calendar you already live in. Once connected, every active deal's dates — contingency deadlines, close of escrow, your custom milestones — appear in a dedicated calendar inside your Google or Outlook account, and stay updated as deals change.
Availability: if the Calendar sync strip says pushing dates isn't configured yet, the Google/Outlook connection isn't switched on for your server. The in-app Schedule calendar and milestone reminder emails cover you in the meantime.
Connect your calendar
- Open Schedule in the sidebar and stay on the Calendar tab.
- In the Calendar sync strip above the month grid, choose Connect Google Calendar or Connect Outlook Calendar.
- Approve access on the provider's consent screen — leave the calendar permission ticked (Google lets you untick individual permissions; without that one the connection can't work and you'll be sent back to try again). You'll land back on the Schedule page with the connection live, and the first sync starts immediately.
Connecting asks for calendar access only — signing in to LetterScript never requests it, and the two approvals stay independent.
Connections are personal to your login, and your connection never appears on anyone else's calendar.
Where the events land
Events go into a dedicated calendar named Letterscript — Deal deadlines that we create in your account — your existing calendars are untouched. In Google or Outlook you can give it its own color, or hide it with one click when you need a quieter week.
- Every date appears as an all-day event, marked free so it never blocks your availability.
- Each event's notes carry the date's basis (for example "Acceptance + 21 days") and a link back to the deal.
For Google specifically, LetterScript's access is limited to calendars it created — it cannot see your existing calendars or events.
What syncs (and what doesn't)
Everything dated on an active deal syncs, including the detail-tier transaction-coordinator dates and your custom milestones. Three things deliberately don't:
- Waived contingencies — a waived chip isn't a date.
- Closed or archived deals — archiving a deal removes its events from your calendar; reactivating brings them back.
- The sample deal — exploring it won't write practice dates into your real calendar.
Changes sync within moments of saving, and a safety-net pass re-checks every connection a few times a day.
One direction, by design
LetterScript is the source of truth. Edit dates in LetterScript — on the deal's Timeline or Pipeline card — not in Google or Outlook: an event edited in your calendar is overwritten the next time that date changes here. If you hand-delete a single synced event, it stays gone until its underlying date changes; if you'd rather not see any of them, disconnect instead. Pulling events from your calendar into LetterScript isn't supported yet.
Disconnect
In the Calendar sync strip, use the disconnect button next to your account. The entire Letterscript — Deal deadlines calendar is removed from your account, and (for Google) the access grant is revoked. Reconnect any time — a fresh calendar is created and fully re-synced. For Microsoft, you can also revoke the app's access at myaccount.microsoft.com.
If the strip shows "needs reconnecting" or "sync error"
Needs reconnecting means the provider expired or revoked our authorization (it can happen if you removed the app's access, or after security events on your account). Click Reconnect, approve again, and the sync resumes — your dedicated calendar is reused, not duplicated.
Sync error is anything else — hover the message for the exact cause, then click Retry. If it keeps failing, the details usually point at the fix.
