Press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows) anywhere in the app — or click the search bar in the top bar — to open the command palette.
Inside a transaction, it's scoped to that file
Open a transaction and ⌘K opens with a chip naming its address: results are that transaction's documents, extracted fields, people and dates instead of the workspace-wide list. Press Esc once to drop the chip and search everywhere; the next ⌘K on the same file opens scoped again.
What it searches (workspace-wide)
- Transactions — by transaction name or address.
- Documents — by title, across all your transactions.
- Conversations — past transaction assistant chats.
- Settings — the Settings rail's own rows, named as they read there: Settings › Billing & transactions, Settings › Integrations, Settings › Audit log, Settings › General, Settings › Appearance, Settings › Profile & password. Inbox and Calendar are in this group too, so typing either name jumps you there.
- Help — these articles, opened in a new tab so you don't lose your place.
Scoped to one transaction (see above), it searches that file's documents, extracted fields (with a source page when one's known), people, and dates instead.
If you're not finding something
- Type at least 2 characters — shorter queries don't run.
- Transactions, documents, conversations and help each show only their top few matches — narrow the query rather than scrolling for a result that isn't there.
- Search covers your own workspace. A transaction shared with you by someone else belongs to their workspace: it shows on your Transactions board — the toolbar has a Shared with me filter — but it will not come back from ⌘K. Open it from the board instead.
- Conversations are your own chats only — a collaborator's conversations on a shared transaction aren't searchable by you.
- Settings rows match on the name shown in the palette, so search the word you'd see in the rail — billing, audit, integrations — rather than a synonym like invoice or quota.
- A document uploaded seconds ago may still be processing; give it a moment and search again.
